SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- An incarcerated man of Alpine was killed in prison Wednesday at California State Prison Solano (SOL) in Vacaville, CA.

Brenten G. Kinzenbaw, 27, was identified as the deceased, California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation (CDCR) said in a news release.

The incident occurred around 7:40 a.m., prompting the prison staff to respond to the attack on the Facility B recreation yard.

When the staff arrived at the recreation yard, they used chemical agents to put an end to the attack. Officers restrained incarcerated persons Christian M. Dumas and Stephen J. Archer II who allegedly attacked Kinzenbaw, per CDCR.

Kinzenbaw was taken to the institution’s triage and treatment area where the prison's medical staff pronounced him dead.
