SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Flock cameras are appearing at various locations in Springfield, including the intersection of Gateway and Beltline. The planned number of sites for these cameras is around 25.
While driving, three camera spots were found within a 2-mile radius. They are located at the roundabout near Hayden Bridge Road and Pioneer Parkway, and two more on Gateway Street. The group Eyes Off Eugene-Springfield is actively working to remove these cameras from the community.
"We were hopeful we could get the contract paused or stopped or cancelled before they did. But, we remain committed to seeing these cameras get removed from our community," said Elliott Hartwell, a spokeswoman for Eyes Off Eugene-Springfield.
