Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson called President Trump out for politicizing government departments after the indictment of former FBI director James Comey Thursday.
When NBC Chicago asked Johnson about Comey's indictment at a press conference after the city council meeting Thursday, the mayor didn't mince words.
"This is further proof that this president has used the sanctity of our departments within government to politicize them," Johnson said. "Look, he said he's going to go after his political enemies. He's politicized the United States military, the national guard."
The indictment comes two days after Trump publicly said that U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi should prosecute Comey and two of Trump's other political adversaries.
