(FOX40.COM)— Delta College is honoring Latin History Month with its “Voices of Change” series, bringing influential leaders to share their stories with the community.

On Thursday, hundreds gathered to hear 95-year-old labor and feminist leader and Delta College alumna, Dolores Huerta, whose legacy continues to inspire new generations.

The crowd filled the auditorium with chants of “Si se puede,” a phrase many say was invented by Huerta during her decades of activism.

“Don’t be afraid to speak up when you’re advocating for other people,” Huerta said to the audience.
