PARMA – A goal six minutes into Thursday’s Interstate 8 soccer matchup at the Panther Bowl put Western in front, and that proved to be all the Panthers needed in a 1-0 win over Northwest.

For much of the game, the Panthers had trouble figuring out a way through the Northwest defense, and the Mounties even turned the table on Western at several points and seemed on the verge of an equalizer, but that goal never came.
