CINCINNATI (WXIX) - To commemorate 250 years since the founding of the United States, Ohio’s statewide commission America 250- Ohio is calling for help to survey the locations of Revolutionary War veteran graves.
Chris Hurtubise with America 250- Ohio said that using military pension records, the Sons of the American Revolution have been able to estimate that around 7,000 graves of Revolutionary War veterans might exist in Ohio.
“Currently, there’s no one public, searchable source where people can find out where those Revolutionary War veterans are buried,” Hurtubise said.
As the state looks to commemorate the monumental anniversary, she said they want to create that database.
