It is Friday morning and it is trash pickup day in your neighborhood. It is 5 a.m. and you feel an elbow nudging you. It is your spouse. She asks, “Did you remember to set out the trash last night?”

Initially, you are offended that your wife would ask the question. A split second before responding curtly, you realize you did forget.

Still in your pajamas, you throw on a coat and slip into the bunny rabbit house slippers that your teenage son “forgot” to take to college. You knew he did not forget but you did not blame him.

You go into the garage, open the door and see lightning flashing in the distance. You think you hear thunder, but it could be the garbage truck up at the corner.

You grab the garbage container by the handle and drag it to the curb. As you are at the end of your drive
