There was a contentious meeting in Eatonville on Thursday night as the town council discussed its options with the Hungerford property possibly going up for purchase.
Orange County Public Schools, the owner of the property, is set to vote next week on selling it to Dr. Phillips Charities.
Some on the council are hoping they can keep the sale from happening. But this is an agreement between OCPS and Dr. Phillips Charities.
The sale would be for a million dollars of an agreed-upon price paid up front, with "the remaining balance forgiven" once certain milestones are reached, including completing an early learning center and establishing a community hub and health care facility.
