ABERDEEN, Ohio —
Jerry Cooper, who escaped from Brown County Jail, was found in Louisville after a week-long manhunt following his alleged involvement in a murder-for-hire plot.
In Brown County, police say Cooper showed up at Kelly Applegate's home on February 10 and shot him in the chest. Court documents reveal investigators allege George Kendall paid Cooper and Michael Fite to kill Applegate. Advertisement
"The rumored amount is $150," said Hannah Wells, Applegate's daughter.
Applegate survived, and his children shared their thoughts on the motive behind the attack.
