SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - On Thursday, an annual event ‘brought home the bacon’ to support a local youth program.

Thursday was the Norm Waitt Senior YMCA’s annual ‘Barbecue and Blues’ event.

Everyone had the chance to enjoy live music by the Kris Lager Band, while enjoying local BBQ. They also had the chance to bid on live and silent auctions.

All of the money raised will go into supporting youth programs at Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA. They provide preschool, infant, toddler, and after-school programming across the Siouxland area, including Dakota Valley, Elk Point, Sergeant Bluff, and the Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA in South Sioux.

KTIV’s Larry Wentz was the emcee for tonight’s event.

The Associate Executive Director of the YMCA says this fundraiser is crucial to their youth programs.
