PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man whose "heinous and brazen" crime spree ended in a shootout with Portland police in 2024 was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Jesse James Allen West, 25, was found guilty in two separate cases, including multiple attempted murder charges for shooting at police officers in 2024, the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office said.

He was also convicted for stealing multiple cars, then committing crimes with them, prior to the shooting, officials said.

West was shot and injured by Portland police officers, who returned fire after West shot at four officers during the incident in Northeast Portland on Sept. 26, 2024.
