The Lethbridge Hurricanes have a home date with the Saskatoon Blades tonight before hitting the road to battle the Red Deer a night later in what will be strong early season tests for the club.
“I think both teams are getting better with guys coming back,” said Ryan Aasman, Canes assistant coach.
“Saskatoon’s a deep team that plays with a lot of skill and pace, and are well coached, and have a … lot of good details (that) supports their games, whether its faceoffs or the way that they transition pucks, they’ve always been like that.”
The Canes see games against the Rebels being a hard style of play.
“We have to be ready to grind and it’s a hard rink to go into. It’s not easy to get wins in that rink, you gotta be ready to compete,” s
