THOMPSON FALLS — Antimony, a silvery metallic mineral, is used in just about everything.
China currently has control of over 80% of the world’s antimony supply, and with an ongoing trade war, shipments from China have been limited at best.
But just outside Thompson Falls lies an antimony processing facility that is soon to expand.
“You may not realize it, but there's not a bullet fired in the world without antimony in it,” said Gary Evans, chairman and CEO of the United States Antimony Corporation, in the opening remarks.
