In an ongoing see-saw battle between Skyview and Union, the slowpitch softball rivals split a doubleheader Thursday in their first meeting of the 2025 season.
Union prevailed 2-1 in game one of a doubleheader played on the Titans’ home field, before Skyview responded with a 7-0 win in the nightcap.
Sophia Rickard’s RBI double, plus a fielding error to score Victoria Ross, gave the Titans two runs in the first inning to hold on for a win in game one. In the circle, Ross held the Storm to three hits and one run over five innings.
Skyview leadoff batter Taylor Lies provided the exclamation point in game two, hitting a three-run triple in the fourth inning to give the Storm a 7-0 lead.
Lies and Koa Lowery each had two hits to lead Skyview. Lowery, Devyn Yates, Nivayah Henry and Kenzie Fron
