The group of people who ransacked a Sydney home in a brutal break-in overnight may have been wearing police logos, it's been confirmed.
At about 12.15am, police were called to a home at Sunny Place in St Johns Park in Sydney's west.
They were told four people - two men aged 29 and 21, and two women aged 56 and 27 - were in the home when a group of unknown men broke in.

The intruders stole jewellery and cash before fleeing.
Police have confirmed the four people in the home were restrained by the intruders.
9News understands their hands were tied and that they were gagged with duct tape, but police have not confirmed the method of restraint.
