The sale of a Jandakot property has been put on hold after City of Cockburn councillors were concerned they were not getting top dollar.

City staff had asked for authority from the council at its September 2 meeting to advertise it was going to sell 17 Imlah Court.

However, the council unanimously voted to put the sale on hold so a real estate agent could get more offers and have the property assessed by two more independent valuers.

An independent valuation had put the site at $845,000.

A council report said the city had received an offer from Landspring Projects, which owns 13 Imlah Court, to buy the site as is for $855,000.

However, councillors wanted to check there were no better offers.
