Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council has raised serious concerns over the rearing of pigs within city limits, including residential areas, following multiple complaints from residents about nuisance, traffic obstructions, and public health risks.
Areas most affected by stray pigs have been identified as Delanipur, Prem Nagar, Goal Ghar, Middle Point, Junglighat, Phoenix Bay, Buniayadabad, and Brookshabad. Residents of these localities have reported unhygienic conditions, foul odours, damage to public property, and potential health hazards caused by pigs roaming freely in public spaces.
