The rescued elephant calf, Priyanshi, who had been under the care of the Boudh Forest Department since September 13, was shifted to the Elephant Rescue Centre at Kapilash in Dhenkanal, Odisha on Friday. The transfer turned into an emotional moment for forest officials and staff, many of whom had grown deeply attached to the young calf during her stay.

Priyanshi was rescued from a canal earlier this month and received continuous care and attention from forest personnel in Boudh. Over the past few weeks, she had become part of the team’s daily life, earning affection for her playful and innocent behaviour.
