A judge on Wednesday granted a permanent civil protection order against an Aspen man accused in the July assault and kidnapping of a local woman.
Pitkin County Judge Ashley Andrews issued the order requiring Nathan Keen, 39, to stay at least 100 yards away from the woman and have no contact with her, except during future court proceedings. Keen, who attended the hearing virtually from the Pitkin County Jail, has been held there on $75,000 bond since Aug. 6, when he surrendered to authorities 12 days after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The incident began on the morning of July 5 when Keen, who had been in a relationship with the woman, went to her Aspen home. From there, they took the woman’s truck to Keen’s home, where he retrieved a pistol and some cash, she recalled.
