The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad on Friday morning has issued a red alert warning of extremely heavy rainfall in isolated locations across all parts of Telangana. The IMD-Hyderabad red alert is from 8.30 am on Friday, September 26 to 10 am, September 27, 2025.

In its 10 am Friday red alert, the IMD-Hyderabad said “Heavy to very heavy with extremely heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places in Telangana. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) very likely

to occur at isolated places in all the districts of Telangana.

In its rainfall classification, the IMD-Hyderabad described extremely heavy rainfall event when the amount of rainfall is more than 204.5 mm (20.45 cm), while very heavy rainfall is categorized when the amount of rainfall
