The murder of Dayna Isaac bore the devastating hallmarks of so many domestic violence killings.
The 28-year-old was killed inside her western Sydney apartment by an angry, jealous and manipulative man, furious because she did not want to be with him.
Paul Jason Sultana, 35, was found guilty on Friday of murdering Isaac, who was described by friends as an “amazing mother”, the “life of the party” and a “friend to everyone”. Isaac’s loved ones wore pink to remember her.
But in dramatic scenes, Sultana stabbed himself in his left arm with a sharp object inside the courtroom after learning his fate.
Court officers responded immediately and he was taken to hospital by NSW Ambulance. A Corrective Services spokeswoman said staff were being supported following the incident and an investigation
