NEW DELHI: Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar appeared visibly frustrated on Thursday while interacting with flood-affected farmers in the Marathwada region, after being asked about the government’s stance on a farm loan waiver. Pawar was visiting Marathwada region to assess damage caused by heavy rains and flooding earlier this week, which devastated crops and damaged residential properties across the region. During his visit, opposition parties had urged the state government to declare a “wet drought” and provide immediate relief to farmers, including a loan waiver similar to measures taken by the Centre for other states such as Punjab.
