A man accused of murdering a mum and her three young children in a devastating house fire has died in prison before his trial .

Bryonie Gawith, 29, and her three children - Denisty Birtle, nine, Oscar Birtle, five, and Aubree Birtle, 22 months - tragically died following a house fire on Westbury Road in Bradford, West Yorkshire in August last year.

Mohammed Shabir, 45, was one of three men who were due to stand trial accused of their murders later this year.

He was on remand in Leeds Prison, where he died on Wednesday (September 24). An investigation is due to take place, Yorkshire Live reports .
