New Delhi: Ziroh Labs is a deeptech startup based in Palo Alto and Bengaluru, that is associated with IIT Madras and has introduced the innovative Kompact AI technology that allows the deployment of AI models on CPUs, that are more widely available than GPUs. Ziroh Labs has announced the appointment of Whitfield Diffie as the chief technologist. Diffie is a legend in cryptography, solving the long-standing problem of secure key distribution with the co-invention of public-key cryptography in 1976, a feat for which he won the 2015 Turing Award along with his advisor at Stanford, Martin Hellman. The advancement allowed cryptographic networks to be scaled to internet dimensions.
The appointment accelerates the next stage of the development of Kompact AI, with a focus on decentralisation,
