DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - September got off to a cool start across Central Illinois, but the month will end very warm.
A warming trend that got underway yesterday will last into Monday.
Abundant sunshine today will push highs into the low-80s, then the upper-80s this weekend. By Monday, highs approach 90°.
The good news is that overnight lows will still be pleasant in the 50s to around 60°.
Unfortunately, all of Illinois, except the Quad Cities area, is abnormally dry or in drought conditions.
With no real rain chances in the forecast and the building heat, drought conditions will worsen.
