Metro Boomin has spoken out after being found not liable for sexual assault after a civil trial on Thursday. After an hour of deliberation on Thursday, the jury found the music producer, real name Leland Wayne, not liable on all four causes of action. According to Rolling Stone, they determined that plaintiff Vanessa LeMaistre had failed to prove her claims that the hip-hop star raped her at a Southern California hotel in 2016. Boomin, who denied the allegation when the lawsuit was filed in October 2024, told his Instagram followers that he was grateful to move on from the dark year of his life. "I'm grateful and thankful to God that I can finally put all of this nonsense behind me. Based off of how I treat others and represent myself, never in a million years would I have thought I could be accused of such a disgusting and heinous act," the 32-year-old began his lengthy statement. "Today I took a victory in court but in reality there is a long list of losses I stacked up in this year long process of clearing my name and reputation. The very large amount of money and time wasted based off of someone else's greed, coupled with the incalculable amount of money and opportunities that did not make it to me or my team during this time." Boomin went on to share how "devastating" the case has been to his youngest brother and sister, whom he legally adopted following the death of his mother in 2022, adding, "The trauma my family and I have endured during this dark period can never be forgiven." The musician thanked his legal team for pursuing truth and justice "within all of this nonsense" and concluded, "Peace and love to all of the actual victims out there as well as the innocent and accused." LeMaistre's lawyer, Michael J. Willemin, told People they were "disappointed" by the outcome but confident the verdict will be overturned on appeal.
