AUSTINTOWN A local political candidate was booked into the Mahoning County Jail on Thursday on a charge of domestic violence.

According to the Mahoning County Sheriff’s website, 29-year-old Emily Ciccone remained in jail early Friday.

Ciccone is one of six candidates running for one of the two Austintown Trustee positions on the November ballot.

She ran as an endorsed Republican candidate for the Ohio 58 th District Representative last year, losing to Democrat Lauren McNally.

As of 5 a.m. Friday, Mahoning County Court online records did not show any recent cases filed involving Ciccone.
