NEW YORK (WABC) -- A rare occurrence is developing in the Atlantic, with the possibility of two hurricanes forming within a few hundred miles of each other.
The first hurricane, Humberto, is about 465 miles (750 kilometers) northeast of the northern Leeward Islands and is moving slowly toward the northwest.
It is a category 1 storm with winds of 75 mph. Humberto may become a major hurricane this weekend, potentially reaching Category 4 strength.
Humberto is expected to move west of Bermuda on Tuesday and Wednesday and stay hundreds of miles away from the U.S., eventually going out to sea without making landfall.
