India’s rising shooting stars made headlines on Day 2 of the ISSF Junior World Cup, with 16-year-old Jonathan Gavin Antony clinching gold in the men’s 10m air pistol event and Rashmika Sahgal securing silver in the women’s category.

Jonathan, who topped qualification with a score of 586-19x, stunned the field in the finals by hitting 21 of 24 shots in the 10-ring, finishing with a commanding lead of 8.5 points. Italy’s Luca Arrighi and Spain’s Lucas Sanchez Tome took silver and bronze respectively.

In the women’s final, Rashmika battled fiercely but fell short by 4.8 points to Individual Neutral Athlete Evelina Shiena, who led from start to finish. Iran’s Fatemah Shekari claimed bronze.
