The Central government on Friday cleared the appointment of 24 new judges to the Allahabad High Court.

The Supreme Court Collegium had on September 1 recommended the appointment of 12 lawyers and 14 judicial officers as judges to the High Court.

Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal in a tweet announced that 24 names of the total 26 have been cleared for judgeship at the High Court.

The lawyers cleared for appointment are:

- Vivek Saran;

- Vivek Kumar Singh;

- Garima Prashad;

- Sudhanshu Chauhan;

- Abdhesh Kumar Chaudhary;

- Swarupama Chaturvedi;

- Siddharth Nandan;

- Kunal Ravi Singh;

- Indrajeet Shukla, and

- Satya Veer Singh .
