The head of the U.S. Border Patrol arrived in Chicago this week as heightened immigration enforcement in the city led to the arrest of a popular tamale vendor and protests continued.

Chief Michael Banks posted images of Chicago on social media, with patrol boats seen on the Chicago River downtown.

"Where streets end, our Marine Unit begins. On the Chicago River, CBP leadership stays vigilant. Our ability to patrol on the water extends the reach of enforcement," Banks captioned the images.
