A shop worker was hit on the head during a robbery in Heywood .

Officers were called out to Best One, formerly Premier, on Peel Lane at around 7.30am this morning (September 26).

Greater Manchester Police says a member of staff was threatened and suffered a minor head injury during the ordeal.

Police who attended the incident recovered a metal baton from the scene.

The baton is believed to have been used to cause the head injury, the Manchester Evening News understands.
