LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Michigan Department of Education has launched a new tool to help support early language development for children who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.

The MDE has announced the launch of a new parent resource website that provides parents with information and guidance on language milestones for children up to age 5.

The new site includes:

Language milestones for children up to age 5 who are deaf or hard-of-hearing

Information on languages, modes of communication, and services and programs to help support development

Tools for parents and guardians to keep track of their child’s progress toward literacy

The site will expand as more information becomes available.
