NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. stocks are rising and clawing back some of their losses from earlier in the week. The S&P 500 added 0.2% Friday and was on track for its first gain in four days. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 191 points, and the Nasdaq composite was virtually unchanged. Stocks got a lift after a report on inflation raised hopes that the Federal Reserve will be able to continue cutting interest rates. President Donald Trump’s latest tariffs on pharmaceuticals, heavy trucks and other imports created ripples in the U.S. stock market instead of waves. U.S. pharma companies ticked higher, while home-furnishing retailers fell.
