A water main break in Novi that prompted school closures and a boil water alert Thursday has been isolated, and the area's water pressure has improved, city officials said.

"Good morning, Novi! Excitement is in the air as we wake up to running water," they said in a post on the city's Facebook page. "(The Great Lakes Water Authority) has successfully isolated the break, and you should now be experiencing improved water pressure (though it may not yet be at full strength and could fluctuate due to the demand on the system, especially this morning.)"

They recommend that affected residents fill their home's bathtubs or other containers with water to use as a backup in case service is interrupted again.
