Almond Valley MSP, Angela Constance, has welcomed First Minister John Swinney’s renewed commitment to eradicating child poverty in West Lothian and across Scotland. ‌

On Wednesday, the First Minister announced the expansion of the Fairer Futures Partnerships to five new local authorities across Scotland – including West Lothian – backed by £4 million of Scottish Government investment this year. ‌

The programme brings together local services in childcare, education, health, housing and employment to deliver joined-up, whole-family support. This makes it easier for families to access the help they need, while breaking down barriers caused by poverty. ‌

The Scottish Government is also providing over £1 million in “Adopt and Adapt” funding for councils not yet involved, so
