KENTUCKY (WKYT) - The body of a missing Kentucky college fisherman has been found, according to his mother.

Springfield, Ky. resident Sara Ashley Hughes says her son, Peyton Hughes, a member of the Campbellsville University Kayak Fishing Team, went missing during a fishing tournament on Toledo Bend Lake in Hemp Hill, Texas.

The Bass Anglers Sportsman Society reports that the kayaker’s travel partner contacted authorities after the angler did not arrive at a designated meeting place on Sept. 24.

Sara posted on social media Friday morning that Peyton’s body had been found in the lake.
