For the last 17 years, Matthew Stafford has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league, making two Pro Bowls, winning a Super Bowl and throwing for over 60,000 yards between his time with the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams.

However, as Stafford nears the end of his career, Los Angeles needs to prepare for life after the former Georgia Bulldog.

In 2025, the Rams have Jimmy Garoppolo serving as their backup and another former Bulldog, Stetson Bennett IV, holding down the third-string role. It’s unlikely that either are the long-term solution for Los Angeles under center.

With that, Los Angeles will need to look elsewhere, which is why it’s interesting that Pro Football and Sports Network’s Josh Wells recently listed them as potential suitors for Anthony Richardson in a trade.
