The Iowa Economic Development Authority is giving three Iowa communities funding to help them improve key neighborhoods. The federal funding comes through the state Comprehensive Neighborhood Revitalization Grant fund. The goal is to upgrade the housing, infrastructure and public spaces low and moderate income residents.

Eagle Grove is receiving $2.7 million to upgraded streets and walking paths along with improving a stormwater system to reduce flash flooding. Manning is receiving $2.75 million to revitalize its Park Avenue neighborhood surrounding Manning City Park. Murray is getting more than $2 million to upgrade a central neighborhood that encompasses more than 60 percent of the city’s residential area.
