Five people were arrested in Abbotsford for illegally entering Canada on Wednesday (Sept. 24) and Thursday (Sept. 25).

According to a news release from the Abbotsford Police Department, four were turned over to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and one was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Police say the arrests came as a result of three separate border runner incidents during the two days.

"We remain committed to protecting our community and supporting our federal partners in maintaining border integrity," Abbotsford Police said.
