Fox Chapel has gone the way of Baldwin and asked for clemency from an opponent.
Earlier this week, the school reached out to its Friday night football opponent, Class 5A No. 1 Pine-Richland, requesting a modified game.
On Thursday, Rams football coach Jon LeDonne responded and acquiesced to the request.
“After numerous conversations with the Fox Chapel athletic office, we have agreed to modify the game schedule,” LeDonne said in a statement. “In the spirit of sportsmanship, we understand the current situation with the Fox Chapel football program.”
Pine-Richland has agreed to play the first quarter at its normal 12 minutes and shorten the second quarter to eight minutes. After the normal halftime festivities, the two teams will play two 8-minute quarters with a running clock.
