BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A jury this week returned a mixed verdict against a man accused of shooting at Bakersfield police officers, finding him guilty of assault with a gun but deadlocking on charges of attempted murder of a peace officer, according to court records.
In total, jurors convicted Steven Armando Jimenez on 11 felony and two misdemeanor counts, records show. They hung on four counts -- including the two attempted murder counts -- and acquitted him of brandishing a gun.
Jimenez, 35, is scheduled for sentencing Nov. 13.
In February 2023, Jimenez, who was on post-release community supervision, fired at officers on Baker Street, police said. He got away. The officers weren't hit.
Early the following day, officers found and tried to arrest Jimenez in the 1900 block of Unio
