BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern County Public Works is set to host a bulky waste collection event in the Taft area on Saturday.

During the event residents will have the opportunity to drive up and drop off their bulky waste for free.

The event is set for Saturday, Sept. 27 from 8 a.m. to noon at the County Administrative Building located at 315 North Lincoln Street.

Household appliances, mattresses, furniture, electronics and other large household items will be accepted, according to officials. Construction waste, household trash, hazardous waste, commercial trash, and green waste will not be accepted.

During the event tires without rims will also be accepted. By California law, you can only transport nine tires per trip.
