UPDATE 8:55 a.m.

The Munro Lake wildfire in Peachland is now an estimated 220 hectares in size, according to BCWS in its Friday morning update.

Throughout the night, crews worked along Princeton Avenue, as well as along the south flank of the fire, creating access for heavy equipment.

On Friday, ground and heavy equipment crews will be working on the southeast corner of the fire to establish guard. Aerial resources will continue to be supporting throughout the day as well.

In total, BCWS has 41 firefighters and four aerial units battling the blaze.

Cooler overnight temperatures lowered the fire behaviour to Rank 2. However, fire behaviour could rise throughout the day on Friday as sunny and windy conditions are expected. According to Environment Canada, the high for Friday is 21 C wit
