ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -His whole time in court, Lorenz Kraus seemed to have a smile on his face. Even as the judge read his charges: two counts each of 2nd degree murder and concealing a corpse.

Court documents allege that Kraus strangled his parents Theresia and Franz to death. It was sometime between January 7th and September 30th of 2017 at their family home on Crestwood Court. He buried their bodies in the backyard allegedly to prevent them from being found.

“Your honor, we acknowledge receipt, waive any further reading and ask that the court enter a not guilty plea, reserving all of his rights,” stated Rebekah Sokol, Albany County public defender.
