BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- Emergency crews responded to a submerged vehicle near LSU’s campus Thursday night.

According to a university spokesperson, LSU PD officers were called around 8:35 p.m. on Sept. 25 to a report of a vehicle that lost control and crashed into the water near the Pi Beta Phi sorority house on West Lakeshore Drive.

Baton Rouge Fire Department, EMS, and the Baton Rouge Police Department responded to the scene. LSU said firefighters freed two occupants from the vehicle. Both were conscious, had no visible injuries, and were later taken to a hospital. Officials confirmed they were not LSU students.
