Gogglebox star Jane Minty opened up to her followers about a big mistake she had made at her real job.

Jane, who features on Gogglebox alongside her brother Simon, works as a chef when she is not filming the Channel 4 show.

In a video posted to Instagram, Simon enquired about his sister's weekly happenings, prompting her to explain her considerable error.

Jane responded: "Made a bit of a boo boo. Mistook twenty egg whites, instead of twenty grams of egg whites. I was preparing a demonstration tray," reports the Mirror .

Puzzled, Simon queried whether this meant she had an excess or shortage, as she admitted it was 'far too many'.

She continued: "But, they will be used. Not wasted."
