Lewis Hamilton has asked for prayers and support from fans with his dog Roscoe in a coma.

The seven-time world champion's pet was diagnosed with pneumonia in April and has been on medication since, but Hamilton has posted a worrying update on Instagram.

He revealed that Roscoe has caught pneumonia again and has been placed into an induced coma , and he might never wake up.

Hamilton is remaining by his dog's side and has pulled out of a Pirelli tyre test in Mugello.

With Hamilton absent so he can be by Roscoe's side, Ferrari have drafted in Zhou Guanyu as they look to develop tyres for next season.

Hamilton was initially scheduled to compete alongside Charles Leclerc, but Guanyu is taking his spot instead.

Ferrari are yet to confirm the reason behind Hamilton's absence.
