Mayor Sharon Tucker's administration has scaled back its budget for next year because Fort Wayne will receive will receive $25 million less in revenue from property taxes.

Tucker and Controller Pat Roller shared the proposed city budget today. The budget for the city, excluding City Utilities, is $244.8 million, and its expenses are about $855,500 less than what was approved for this year, a news release said.

The budget will be presented to City Council at upcoming meetings starting Oct. 7. Council members will decide whether to cut the budget, which must be passed before November.
