Bikers need to communicate with walkers when sharing path

I have no problem with bikers using sidewalks if they feel safer, but, please, if you’re a biker coming up on a walker, let us know you are fast approaching by yelling out “behind you” or any other way to communicate.

Walkers are looking forward so unless you make us aware you are there, we cannot get out of the way. I was walking my dog the other day and almost got run down by a biker flying past me.

And to children riding bikes, it wouldn’t hurt to use the reliable bell on their bikes to warn us.

I’m happy to step aside for you but can’t do so if I don’t know you’re there.
